How is your curb appeal?
In today’s world of e-commerce, non-traditional marketing, and the ever-evolving internet and intranet, the platforms of social media are becoming more and more important in the growth of business. But for many companies, the use of social media is either inconsistent or not at all. Inconsistent or non-existent social media marketing, at best, will do no harm; but at worst, it can and will negatively affect your brand.
So what do you do? Think of your website as a glass front-door and social media as the windows to your house. The glass front door provides an unobstructed view and allows you inside, and the windows allow a peek into your realm. Are the windows complimenting the house? Is the appearance of the windows and front door in harmony? How’s the curb appeal?
Next, are your social media accounts and website sharing the same information, but maybe from a different perspective, or are you sending out totally different messages? Does LinkedIn reflect your business, and Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter more of the “fun” side of your company? Are you educating your current and potential customers when you post to social media? Is the same information available on your website should a Tweet prompt a visit?
These are the things that can entice further engagement. Hire a professional who will perform an assessment of your social media usage and your website to ensure that the “curb appeal” of your company is at its best. First impressions count, and you only get one chance, so make sure you are putting your best “social media” foot forward.
